The following is completely true and stinking hilarious.

Okay, so I'm sure you've heard rumors about Austin. it's full of hippie freaks with bumper stickers that say "keep Austin Weird". Well, that's all true and was confirmed 2 weeks ago.

So, I'm walking up the hill to see Josh at the Architecture building (we're on opposite sides of the campus). When I hear a Bring back that Fabulous 80's haircut, the mullet. Surely, even in this "weird" town no one in their right mind would be protesting to bring back the mullet.

I stop and look in the direction of the male voice and over the crowd of people, I see it. The haircut that made Boy George, Michael W Smith, and Don Johnson hit the teenage scene--the mullet.

This guy proceeds, "Hello, I'm Derek Dees, and I'm here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:45-1 to bring back the mullet. Here's a list of famouc US citizens with a mullet 'Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2, Joe Dirt, etc." (Does he realize that movies aren't real?) Then he says with his pit-stained white t-shirt that says "bring back the mullet" in black marker on, "Hello, I'm Derek Dees and I'm here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:45-1 to bring back the mullet. Here's a side view of the mullet." He proceeds to turn his head to the side. (pause, pause, pause) "Hello, I'm Derek Dees, and I'm here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:45-1 to bring back the mullet. Here's a list of names for the fabulous 80's haircut: business in the front, party in the back, Mississippi mud flaps, femullet (for women), etc." Then he goes through his whole schpeel and gives the "other side view". I mean this guy is hilarious.

I later found out that he is a business sophomore honors student. Personally, I think it is all a business project for one of his classes. He's gotten coverage from the UT paper, Austin paper, and the Austin local news. Oh my, stop the insanity.
