Growing up big
Not Tivon, but the flowers he planted with Uncle Brandon.

Sleepy Boy

Do not read this posting if you have a young child who doesn't sleep well. You may hate me.

Tivon had a hard first year and a half (as most of you know) but since then is quite the trooper when it comes to sleep. He has his quirks still but generally he is a great sleeper--most days sleeping 11-12 hours at night and 3 hours during the day. Well, last Sunday, we wanted to go over to a friends' house after his nap. Finally at 4 HOURS of sleeping we woke him up. So he got out of bed and came into the living room. This is what we saw. I guess he was still sleepy.

Then, of course, Shalosh had to join in.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (sort of)

So one of my friends gave me the suggestions to talk about daycare/school as Ti going to work. So we talked for days about dada going to work, momma going to work and tivon going to work. To make it a special day, ti and i went to the fabric store and picked out fabric to make a fun backpack for him. Then he could have a bag like daddy and mommy have for work. BTW, this was definitley NOT cheaper than buying one. But the memories are worth it, right?

So here's ti on his second day (daddy had the camera on the first day). The backpack has trains on it and the straps are train tracks. When I dropped him off at "work", he waved to me and blew me a kiss. That's it. No drama. No "don't leave me!" Just "bye bye".

The Last Summer Playdate
Lala, Olivia ("yuh" to Tivon) and baby Sean made there way over to our house for a playdate--much fun ensued.

A Long Time Comin'
I took Ti to his new daycare the other day for a pre visit. I explained that he was going to go here when mommy goes to work. That started the wheels a turnin'. He had a great time at Mel's house and then I do a quick errand at UT explaining that this is where mommy is going to go to work. Oh my, here was the punch line, tivon looked at me with those big brown eyes, "no mommy work. no. work. mommy." I didn't know whether to cry because our full time mom/son time was nearing an end or to give him a high five for completing a three-word sentence. :)
